The ground floor of a Georgian townhouse is a rare thing to have entirely to yourself. No stairs. A private entrance. And from the moment you step inside, one of the most architecturally remarkable reception rooms in our entire collection. The ceilings are extraordinary — close to four metres, with original plaster cornicing and full-height panel moulding running the length of every wall. A brass chandelier. An ornate white marble fireplace with a gilded mirror above it. Two full-height sash windows dressed in floor-length linen, looking out onto the street. Two black Chesterfield sofas anchored by an Eames lounge chair — dark furniture against brilliant white panelled walls, a combination that works precisely because the room is confident enough to hold it. Step outside and the private terrace is yours alone. In central Marylebone, that is not something most guests ever expect to find. This is a VI&CO residence — which means nothing is left to chance.
The master bedroom carries the same architectural grandeur as the reception — brass chandelier, panel moulding, an ornate fireplace with gilded mirror, two sash windows with a Juliet balcony, and warm oak floors. An upholstered linen headboard, bench at the foot, and the kind of generous proportions that make a room feel genuinely restful. The kitchen is separate, fully equipped with a gas hob, oven, dishwasher, and washing machine — practical and properly set up for longer stays.
